Volunteer Frederick offers many opportunities
to become involved in emergency response efforts locally in
Frederick County. Almost any individual can assist us in some
way during times of disaster or community need. We also have
specific trained roles to fill and a place for groups of individuals
who wish to work together as response teams to get involved. Click here for more information on upcoming training events.
Volunteer & Medical
Reserve Corps
The Volunteer and Medical Reserve Corps are intended to
supplement the resources of the local public health
infrastructure in the event of a large-scale emergency or
disaster.
The Frederick County Volunteer & Medical Reserve Corps is
comprised of both medical and non-medical support personnel
who volunteer to assist public health and safety agencies
during a health emergency or disaster such as an influenza
epidemic, a chemical spill, natural disaster, or an act of
terrorism. A specialized segment of the Medical
Reserve Corps handles community crisis mental health response
using counselors, psychologists, and chaplains.

Disaster
Planning Template for Agencies - Use this form to begin
an agency disaster preparedness plan so that you can provide
for continuity of operations. Preparedness planning is
an on-going strategic initiative.
A disaster plan consists of four parts. These are:
Compliance
Preparedness
Training & Resource Development
Information Management
Ask yourself why do we need a disaster plan with an "all
hazards" approach? Put simply, such a program allows you to
provide for:
Effective coordination of activities among the
organizations having a management/response role;
Early warning and clear instructions to all concerned if a
crisis occurs;
Continued assessment of actual and potential consequences
of the crisis;
Continuity of business operations during and immediately
after the crisis.
