Most Appreciated VIP Waiter Award! Community Leaders Raise $30,000 at Annual
VIPs at Your Service Fundraiser!

Volunteer Frederick held its fifth annual
"VIPs at Your Service fundraising dinner
at Martins at Walkersville on November 12th. Marvin
& Lisa Ausherman served as Head Waiters leading 21 other
VIP Waiters for this lively event. VIP Waiters decorated their
tables and themselves with themes and competed to see who
could earn the most tips (donations) and be awarded Most Appreciated
Waiter.
Dave Chapin (Chapin & Assoc.) won the
Most Appreciated Waiter award. With assistance from Ann Fisher
and his wife Sue Chapin, he raised $4,856 in tips and silent
auction sales by offering guests An Evening at Monte
Carlo.
Marvin & Lisa Ausherman treated their
guests to A Formal Affair and won the Most Beautiful
Table award. Doug Hart (The Barnesville School), dressed as
Martha Stewart behind bars, appealed to school parents for
a Home Economics position once released. Hart won the Funniest
Table Award. Dan & Marilyn Herbert (Revival Home Improvements),
winners of the Most Creative Table award, led a group of costumed
rock stars. An exceptional guest this year was a 12-foot albino
python draped over Darby Jones, a guest at Janet Wells
(The Inn at Buckeystown) and Whitney Hahns (WAFY) Survivor
themed table.

Other VIP Waiters and their themes included
Sue Hough and Heather Whittington (Octavo Designs) who tempted
their guests in Guilty Pleasures including a flowing
chocolate fountain. They came in second raising $4,355. Cindy
Burdette and Pat Rosensteel indulged their guests in An
Evening of Hedonism. Marty Cifrese (Frederick County
Office for Children & Families) shook up Martinis
for her guests. Angel Kathy Davis and devil Barb Walker (McLean,
Koehler, Sparks & Hammond) subjected their guests to A
Night of Heaven or Hell and Belinda Gruber (AFLAC) entertained
her guests with, what else, ducks! Finally, Dusty Rood (Rodgers
Consulting) constructed a tiki hut on site and held a Tropical
Island Luau.
